You are able to write on these using a pen, pencil, or sharpie. The inks will come off when the label dissolves. These labels are in the size of 2 x 2” inches in a rectangular shape. Simple to pull and apply as well as simple to remove by dissolving. There are 500 of these food prep labels on each roll. We do however add about 10 extra to make up for the little white sticker we use to hold the roll together. Once applied, simply place in dishwasher or lightly scrub the sticker with fingers and water. They will leave no residue behind. This is great because there will be no bacteria in leftover residue. This helps tremendously in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen. No need to peel old labels in order to apply a new one. There is no leftover residue or damage done to plastic and metal bins. The adhesive is a strong back adhesive and will adhere very well to most flat surfaces. We do not recommend these be placed on bins that might be prone to nearby splashes of water (from a sink, etc).
