They allow you to see the flow and quality of water and to know which chamber to flush. In-line sight glasses are also great for flushing ports, enabling you to see when the water runs clear - saving you time, water and money. Benefits of having the Demountable Coupling In-Line Sight Glass The biggest problem with a transparent in-line sight glass is that over a period of time they need cleaning and, with a more conventional solvent weld in-line sight glass, cleaning can be a bit of a problem. A great advantage of having a demountable sight glass is the fact that, when it needs it comes to cleaning, you can simply unscrew the demountable coupling and clean with ease. What is a Demountable Coupling? Demountable couplings are used when line equipment such as a UV, pump, filter supply etc need to be removed for maintenance or cleaning. Once the chosen fittings/rigid pipe have been installed to the demountable coupling, simply align the threads of the male (demountable coupling body) and the female (retaining nut) together and tighten down. Once secured the heavy duty E.D.P.M sealing washer will make a superb watertight seal. Demountable couplings are quick and easy to use, making them perfect for any job where regular maintenance or cleaning needs to be carried out. The demountable coupling has been designed like a socket/joining bush, allowing for rigid pipe to be solvent welded internally on both the demountable coupling body and the socket.
