Installation tips Depending on how hard your soil is, separate each sod staple between 1-5 ft. For extremely soft soil, separate each sod staple by 1 ft. For extremely hard soil, separate each sod staple by 5 ft. If your soil is hard you can use a rubber mallet or hammer, if your soil is softer you can most likely just push the staples into the ground. For dog fence installations and a full ground installation we recommended placing the garden staples every 4-10 feet apart. You can install your entire Electric dog wire to the ground using our steel sod staples. Eventually the grass will grow around the dog fence staples keeping the wire anchored to the ground.
