This is a k-type thermocouple wire with yellow braided fiberglass insulation, which is good up to about 400 C Celsius or 752 F Fahrenheit. It is a stranded K-type thermocouple wire, with 7 metal strands, each 0.2 mm in diameter, for a total diameter of 0.51 mm or AWG24. Braided thermocouple wires are more flexible than single strand wires. This k-type thermocouple wire can be used to make your own thermocouples for a wide range of applications, or to make your own extension wire. The chromel alumel wire is made to standard thermocouple specifications. It is sold in 10 yard (30 ft) spools.
