Conversation starters. Dope skate shoes. Designed by Indigenous creatives. Bridging sport, history and culture, the Nike SB Dunk Low x N7 celebrates Indigenous athletes through the joyful expression of skate.

Designed in partnership with individuals from the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and Ojibwe communities, every detail is purposefully crafted. Up top, vibrant and intricate embroidery reflects traditional motifs from the Great Lakes and Woodlands regions. "The Dunk was the perfect backdrop, letting us collaborate with Indigenous artists from these communities to highlight a graphic expression that culturally appreciates them," says footwear material designer Nico Verburgt (Ojibwe).

"Seeing our art and legacy come to life and carry on in a new way is exciting,” says fashion designer Rebekah Jarvey (Ojibwe/Chippewa). “Our art has been translated through different mediums and passed down for generations through the matriarchy. Helping with this design and seeing it highlight our culture for a new generation is incredibly special."

Flip 'em over. The maple wood print beneath the iced outsole honors the trees growing throughout these communities and their tie to skate. If you're dropping in, landing big tricks or just coasting, check your deck—it's likely fashioned from the durable maple wood that comes straight from the Great Lakes and Woodlands regions.

"When ideating for this collection, I really wanted to create something that reflects the beauty of Native culture through the individualistic lens of skate," says designer Michael French (Navajo/Dine). "The design is a conduit for bigger conversations: Pieces of Indigenous culture dipped in the freedom inherent within the skate community." From the embroidery and maple graphic to the deck you ride and the trees growing on Haudenosaunee and Ojibwe land, this Dunk doesn't just ask to be skated in. It says, "Tell the story." So, grab your board, ride over the coping and expand the conversation.
