Why do patients have post-surgical drains? Following a mastectomy or other breast surgery, women are often discharged with drains coming from their surgical site. While these drains are uncomfortable and inconvenient, they promote healing and recovery by preventing blood and lymphatic build-up under the skin. If you are unsure about the size to order, measure one of your favorite, comfortably-fitting t-shirts. Put your favorite fitting shirt on a flat surface and measure one inch below the armpit from side-to-side to get a chest measurement and then compare to the size chart below. Also, measure the sweep or bottom of the shirt from the side seams and compare to the sweep measurement below. The Recovery Tees are designed to have extra room in the sweep to accommodate drains during post-surgical care.

- SIZING INFORMATION: When selecting a size, choose your normal t-shirt size - it is not recommended that patients size up; shirts were carefully designed with a ever-so-slight bell-shaped pattern to allow for more room in the bottom sweep (bottom edge measured horizontally straight across from side-to-side) and accommodate post-surgical drains and various waist and hip sizes
