SparkFun Digital Temperature Sensor Breakout - AS6212 (Qwiic) - High Accuracy Low Power Consumption Board Small Size 1 inch by 1 inch Footprint Configurable Alert pin 8 Selectable I2C addresses

This SparkFun Qwiic Digital Temperature Sensor Breakout provides a combination of high temperature accuracy with excellent low power consumption using the AS6212 digital temperature sensor from ams AG. The sensor measures temperature data up to ±0.2°C; accuracy over a wide range (-40°C; to +125°C;) and consumes an average of 6µA in normal operation (0.1µA in standby). The AS6212 communicates via I2C and has eight available I2C addresses selected by a pair of solder jumpers on the board. The breakout routes the I2C interface to a pair of Qwiic connectors to work with our plug-and-play Qwiic Ecosystem but also routes the bus and other pins to a standard 0.1"-spaced PTH header for users who prefer a soldered connection. The AS6212 features an alert output to trigger when recorded temperature data crosses user-designated thresholds. The low and high values make it perfect to monitor systems that must remain in a specific temperature range. Along with the alert pin, the AS6212's sleep mode works with a single-shot temperature measurement to wake the device, take a single reading and then return to sleep mode for extreme low-power/battery- powered temperature measurement projects. The SparkFun Qwiic Connect System is an ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields and cables that make prototyping faster and less prone to error. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector. This reduces the amount of required PCB space, and polarized connections mean you can’t hook it up wrong.

Product Features

  • The SparkFun Digital Temperature Sensor Breakout - AS6212 (Qwiic) provides a combination of high temperature accuracy with excellent low power consumption using the AS6212 digital temperature sensor from ams AG.
  • The AS6212 measures temperature with 0.2C accuracy between -10C to 65C (full measurement range is -40C to 125C), consumes an average of 6A (0.1A in standby) and communicates over I2C so naturally we put it on a Qwiic breakout to add to our ever expanding Qwiic system. All of this in a tiny IC package measuring 1.5mm x 1mm.
  • The AS6212 boasts a host of features including a configurable alert pin that can trigger when temperature data exceeds user-defined temperature thresholds.
  • Features: Communicates via I2C (Qwiic enabled); Eight selectable I2C addresses (0x48 Default); Operating Voltage Range: 1.7V - 3.6V; Low Power Consumption: 6A typical, 0.1A standby
  • Also features: Operating Temperature Range: -10C to 125C; High Temperature Accuracy: 0.2C from -10C to 65C; 0.3C from -40C to -10C and 65C to 85C; 0.5C from 85C to 125C
